Steve Jobs showcased the newest version of the much-hyped iPhone at the WWDC today. It looks much like what we had expected.
Let’s check it out.
Outlook
The 34 percent slimmer iPhone 4 flaunts a black glass and stainless steel rim, which acts as part of the antenna for 3G and wi-fi.

Display
The picture quality on the 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 960×640 pixels – same as iPhone 3GS – is four times times better than the current version, according to Apple.

Processor
Iphone 4 uses Apple A4 chip which is currently being used in iPad 3GS. The benefit of this new chip is it consumes less power because its sub-components can be switched on and off when they are not needed, shaving watts whenever it’s possible. The operating system, which runs on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, has been renamed iOS 4.0.

Battery
The battery is 16 percent bigger and Apple claims 40 percent more talk time.
Camera
iPhone 4 can certainly capture a high definition video, which would be at 720p 30 FPS although the megapixels remain the same as iPhone 3GS. It’s equipped a much bigger camera and a sensor with LED-based flash which means that now you won’t complain about low picture quality in dimly-lit conditions. Another added feature is the front camera — for use in video conferencing — which possesses standard VGA resolution.

Gyroscope
The new iPhone boasts of an in-built gyroscope — better than the accleremeters in the old iPhones — which can track movement with a very high precision. And now you have 6-axis motion sensing.
Price and availability
The Phone 4 will be available in black or white on June 24, and will cost $199 and $299 for 16 and 32GB.
Other Features:
• Like the iPad 3GS, the new iPhone uses the new micro-SIM standard.
• It has an additional microphone on the top used for noise cancellation.
