Just when we thought there isn’t going to be any major news/uptade on what Apple is into behind closed doors. We recently bumped into OmniVision’s plans of supplying the CMOS sensors for dual cameras in the next generation iPad 2, a 5MP camera on the back and a VGA quality camera on the front respectively. OmniVision is also the provider for Apple’s Stunning iPhone 4′s cameras.
A second generation iPad 2 is a favorite as far as major gadget updates are concerned, the next generation iPad would most likely be enclosed early 2011, maybe in April as similar to the original one. With dual cameras, iPad could be blessed with FaceTime support. Facetime on iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac and now ready to get itself featured on the next generation iPad, this is massive, in just a year of it’s launch.
Barrons suggest that Apple will work up 2.5 million units of the next iPad in First Quarter 2011. They also tipped that the iPhone could sell up to 23 million units within Q1 2011, looking at the increasingly demand of Verizon iPhone, which went on to sell over 6m units. If Apple pulls this off, as it had earlier, then it would relatively overcome it’s previous milestone of 14 million iPhones in 2009
