The Jewel Frenzy iPhone app from Inzmore combines addictive match gameplay, unique graphics and a little something extra for a stellar iPhone app experience. If you’re looking for a challenging new app with a lot of charm pay close attention to my iPhone app review of Jewel Frenzy.
In Jewel Frenzy the idea is to collect matching gems. Basically, the player needs to tap on a block of 3 or more of same color gems. Sounds easy? No! What makes this even more difficult and challenging is the presence of a 90 seconds timer. Match fast, pick up bonuses, special gems and earn mega points.
The player would also come across few special gems, such as Bomb, Lightning and Time Gems. Bomb Gems will burst all gems in horizontal or vertically patterns. Lightning Gems explodes every gem in its row and column. Time Gems would add an extra fifteen seconds to the timer. I really like the graphics in Jewel Frenzy. The game is bright and vibrant, definitely giving the app a fresh feel. Even the transitional screens for pausing, saving and restarting the games are intricately designed. I think I like the graphics more than the game, but maybe that’s because I haven’t ranked on the global score board yet.
For any good iPhone game, the UI needs to be a fine balance of easy game play and minimalist controls. Jewel Frenzy definitely hits the mark here as well. I barely noticed the in game controls, which consist of one small pause button and the mean timer tucked at the top of the screen. Downloading Jewel Frenzy from iTunes costs 99cents. That’s a pretty fair price for an amusing yet simple game that functions correctly. It’s also nice to play this kind of app without any ads.
