Jake Escapes HD Game Review for iPhone and iPad

May 17, 2012

If you are one of the iOS faithful out there that loves a bit of a challenge, and likes to think of themselves as a bit of an escape artist there is an iOS game available called Jake Escapes HD, which is basically a building escape game whereby the gamer has to climb buildings window by window in order to execute a successful robbery.

You’ll be filling the boots of world’s greatest thief, Jake whose objective is to steal a power-driven technology device from the government. Swipe your finger will put Jack on the building, up and running away from the catchers. While making your way to the top of the building you’ll find few windows with wooden planks on them, which means you cannot limb them to crawl your way up, you have to climb the windows which are without any obstructions. You also have to collect various items on the way to complete mission requirements. These may require some puzzling such as taking a white glove from a death-defying mime and dipping it in red paint from a painter, while others will need you to take more time in planning your route.

After seeing the screenshots, I was excited to see the real deal and I’m totally impressed. I made the right decision, the graphics are simply breathtaking. The contours of the buildings and the animated people in their respective windows look pretty real. The story of Jake Escapes HD is good, and everything runs kind of smooth, the controls are easy to adapt, the character looks amazing, what else you want in a game.

Jake Escapes HD might have amongst the best graphics and animations we’ve yet to see for an iPhone and iPod Touch developed game, and together with a simple sound track, they make the game worth while no matter the age of the player. Jake Escapes HD is 1.99$ on the app store, which isn’t that much considering all the pros of the game.
