Word games are amongst the oldest brain teasers around, but they’re still just as fun today. Developed by Fugo, Wordz is a new game that will have you scratching your head as you try to make as many words as you can from a twelve letter grid. If you love puzzle games such as boggle or scrabble, you will definitely love this one.
Wordz is the fast fun game of finding words in a jumbled grid. It plays just like Boggle; you have a random grid of letters, and you have to make words out of them. You simple quickly slide your finger over letters next to each other to make words and essentially rack up the points. All the letters have to be connected in a line, but you can go up, down, left, right, or diagonal.
This takes scrabble to a whole new level. The iPhone gives you a much faster way to play this game while giving your fun incentives for getting high scores and finding the most words possible. I’m not wild about the trophies, since they don’t really add anything, and most of them don’t really feel like worthwhile achievements, but if you’re the type who loves to compare progress with your friends on Facebook, they’re there for you.
While nothing is overtly groundbreaking about Wordz, the game is still extremely well executed and certainly more conducive to learning than most within this particular gaming genre. For instance, at the end of every game, the list of possible words is presented. Making it possible to learn while you play, Wordz is definitely fun and is colorfully presented.
